Administrative Responsibilities
Dr. West serves as the Research, Extension, and Instruction Coordinator (REI) for the Department of Animal and Dairy Science, Tifton Campus.
Description of Research and Extension Interests
Dr. West’s research and extension interests include the nutrition and management of the lactating dairy cow, with particular emphasis on the heat_stressed cow. Potassium supplementation, dietary cation_anion difference, and fiber supplementation during hot weather are all research interests of mine. In extension, I do programs at the county, state, and regional level on management and nutrition of the lactating dairy cow, heat stress management, and in the production of high quality forages.
